Stephanie Shafer at Bethany College
Stephanie Shafer a 2006 graduate of Lancaster High School just completed her senior season of softball at Bethany College (WV). A two year starter at first base for the Bison, she helped lead Bethany to the most wins in school history at 35. The Bison finished this season with a 35-15 record. Bethany finished as co-champions of the Presidents Athletic Conference and were the runner-up and within one game of winning the PAC and ECAC tournament titles. Stephanie finished her senior season with a .305 Batting Average, with 40 Hits, 26 RBI, 24 Runs, 6 Doubles, 1 Triple, 4 HR, 20 BB and 12 Sac Hits. Slugging Pct of .453 and On Base Pct of .408, with 336 Putouts and 3 Errors for a .992 Fielding Pct. Stephanie graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Bethany. Stephanie will now be attending and working at West Liberty University as a graduate assistant in the Education department, there she will work on her masters. Stephanie will also be working on the softball coaching staff at Bethany College. |

Tech Web Site:
Katie Maynard has
signed a letter of intent to play softball at Virginia Tech.
Katie hails from Lancaster, Ohio, and will help the Hokies
out on the mound immediately. At Lancaster High, she has been
named first-team all-state, all-district and was the Ohio
Capitol Conference Player of the Year. On the mound, she has
a 0.29 ERA and 375 strikeouts in 215 innings. She has thrown
one perfect game, eight no-hitters, five one-hitters, 18 shutouts
and has a record of 22-6. Maynard, who plays her
club ball for the Ohio Mad Dogs 18-and-Under team, chose the
Hokies over Ohio State.
